Wade Kinsella – Hart Of Dixie
A Southern accent can go a long way with me. Especially if it’s owner also has the upper body of Greek statue and adorably floppy blond hair. Maybe it’s the heat or all the bacon we eat down here, but they just don’t grown ’em like Wade Kinsella anywhere else in the world. Don’t write me letters, I know Wilson Bethel isn’t from the South, but this character is all ours.
As the beer-drinking, good ol’ boy foil to Zoe Hart’s uptight New York City princess, they verbally sparred through a lot of sexual tension. The back and forth, and will they/won’t they created a lot of conflict during the course of the show’s too-short run. Even when they finally gave into their feelings and channelled all that energy into some super steamy sex, they still bickered and squabbled. It was kind of their thing.
Wade always called Zoe out on her crap, and she couldn’t get away with anything. Zoe met her match in Wade, and he definitely drove her crazy sometimes, but he ultimately challenged her to be better.
Isn’t that what we all want? A man who loves us enough to push us to be our best selves? Who sees the best in us, even when we can’t see it in ourselves? And a Southern accent? We always want a Southern accent.

Tommy Shelby – Peaky Blinders
Oh my. Be still my beating heart! Every single thing about this man Cillian Murphy brings to life makes him the right stuff. Even with all the law-breaking, criminal behavior and PTSD. I feel sure I could love him through it.
Tommy Shelby is the boss of a crime family in post-WWI Birmingham, England. He’s wounded, both physically and emotionally, and he hurts all the people in his life, no matter what. Now, it might sound like he’s the opposite of a good boyfriend, but hear me out.
Amidst all the brooding and withholding, he really has some pretty fierce feelings. When he loves you, he loves you no matter what. When he discovers the love of his life, Grace, has betrayed him, he at first leaves her. But he spends years pining for her, tortured and and in pain.
When he realizes what a fool he’s been to keep her at a distance, they reunite and he’s the kind of happy that only a man in love can be. He never once ever loved another woman as much as Grace, and this makes him quality boyfriend material. He won’t scroll through his phone looking for a quick fix, or troll the bar looking to hook up.
Tommy Shelby will love you until he dies, or in his case specifically, until his lover dies.
