With Kitten Bowl IV and Puppy Bowl XIII in the record books, fans around the globe want to know: where can we adopt furry little anipal friends of our own?
We hope you had a fabulous time squeeing over Kitten Bowl IV and Puppy Bowl XIII this year. The kittens were rough and tough, except when they couldn’t quite handle the rigours of the game and fell off their balance beam. The puppies were energetic and ready to take a flying tackle into the nearest neighbor who agreed to play with them, even if it was a member of their own team.
But what’s that you say? You’ve fallen in love with the puppies? You hankering for one of the kittens? Where can these adorable fluffballs be adopted?
Well don’t get your hearts set on taking home one of the cats from Hallmark Channel’s Kitten Bowl. According to their press release, all 100 kittens who participated have already found their furever homes. (Yes, that’s the technical term.)
"“The ‘Kitten Bowl’ franchise is at the heart of Crown Media Family Networks’ PETS initiative,” said Bill Abbott, President and CEO, Crown Media Family Networks. “As proud as we are of the thousands of animals that have found forever homes because of ‘Kitten Bowl,’ and many of our other pet-centric programs, we dream of a day when shelters will be empty because every animal has a loving home,” Abbott concluded. North Shore Animal League America and Last Hope Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation provide adoptable kittens annually for the “Kitten Bowl” franchise. "PUPPY BOWL XIII’s 34 shelters and rescue groups represent 22 states across the U.S. and Puerto Rico. This year’s roster includes players from AHeinz57 (Iowa), Big Fluffy Dog Rescue (Tennessee), Citizens for Animal Protection (Texas), Last Hope K9 (Massachusetts), Miami-Dade County Animal Services (Florida), Mr. Bones & Company (New York), Nevada SPCA, Paw Works (California), Stray Rescue (Missouri), among others. The ASPCA NY provided adoptable kittens for the KITTY HALF-TIME SHOW, the cheerleading rescue rabbits and guinea pigs are from Luv-N-Bunns (Philadelphia) and Helping All Little Things (New Jersey). The chinchilla mascots were provided by Chin Friends Chinchilla Rescue (New York) and the owl flew in from Volunteers for Wildlife (Long Island). The African Parrot was provided by Phoenix Landing rescue (Washington DC)."
