Puppy Bowl XIII is here! Join me as I rank puppies by cuteness, cuddliness, adorability, and how badly I want to squish their face.
Let’s be real, the Puppy Bowl is the most important thank happening on Sunday. Oh wait, there’s nothing else?
Ah, yes, the Super Bowl. That one day of the year where it’s semi-okay for people to yell at their TV screens and maybe even throw some beer at it. This year, the Patriots and the Falcons will go head to head in Houston. While some find it fun to watch men tackling one another on a field for a trophy, others get pleasure from watching puppies do the exact same thing.
Enter Puppy Bowl XIII.
Dating back to February 6, 2005, this Animal Planet program takes over the TV the same day as the Super Bowl and attracts a slightly different fan base. Puppy enthusiasts unite!
It’s two teams of puppies titled Team Ruff and Team Fluff (because of course they are.) They’re put together on a field in a model stadium with a human referee to make sure nothing gets out of hand, you know? Then, they go for the gold.
Never seen the Puppy Bowl before and have no idea what I’m talking about? Check out of the greatest moments in Puppy Bowl history:
See what I’m saying now? This day is iconic.
Every year, an MVP (Most Valuable Puppy) is chosen via online voters. The length of the game is 120 minutes and will be on 2/5 beginning at 3:00pm ET and 12:00 PT.
Now, I’m not one to discriminate against any puppies but I am going to attempt to rate my favorites from the starting line up. And make no mistake, my good people- this was easily the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do, so bare with me.
Now follow along for some much needed puppy cuteness, Culturess style.
