“Kitten Bowl” is a feline catstravaganza presented in association with North Shore Animal League America (the nation’s largest no-kill shelter and animal adoption organization) and Last Hope Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation. Hosted by Beth Stern, TV personality and national spokesperson for North Shore Animal League America, “Kitten Bowl” is a star-studded lineup that includes legendary New York Yankees radio voice John Sterling and award-winning reporter, sports analyst and commentator Mary Carillo as “Kitten Bowl’s” official play-by-play announcer, and Boomer Esiason as the Feline Football League’s (FFL) Commissioner. Name: Lion Fitzcatrick

Position / Style: Bite Tickle

Demeanor: Stubborn

Nickname: “The Hittin’ Kitten”

Ambition: To land a job cleaning fish

Fear: A world without milk

Quote: “Say ‘Hello’ to the paw.”

At first, I thought the quote read, “Say hello to my little paw!” But that’s a little extra. Admittedly, it’s bad enough that this kitten’s name is Lion Fitzcattrick. Like, we get it. It’s all about puns. However, Lion only works sparingly. The team is already named Last Hope Lions. So, this is a bit of a double-whammy. Though, I’m going to allow it because this kitten’s position is “bite tickle”. I have no idea what that means, but it sounds hilarious.

Name: Brownie

Position / Style: Snacker

Demeanor: Weird

Nickname: “Hollywood”

Dream Job: Tuna taster

Favorite Film: “Ben-Fur”

Quote: “Are you stalkin’ to me?”

Honestly, I enjoy the demeanor descriptions the best. As soon as I looked at Brownie, I immediately thought this particular looked really weird. Like, there’s a mixture of confusion and bravado happening here. It’s like when you’re going into the fourth quarter and you think you’ve bagged the win. Then, suddenly, interception! All of a sudden, your opponents rushing into the end zone with only eight seconds left on the clock … Meanwhile, you’re left wondering what the heck just happened.
