Kitten Bowl IV: Meet the Kitten Line Up of the All-Star Teams
By Buckie Wells
“Kitten Bowl” is a feline catstravaganza presented in association with North Shore Animal League America (the nation’s largest no-kill shelter and animal adoption organization) and Last Hope Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation. Hosted by Beth Stern, TV personality and national spokesperson for North Shore Animal League America, “Kitten Bowl” is a star-studded lineup that includes legendary New York Yankees radio voice John Sterling and award-winning reporter, sports analyst and commentator Mary Carillo as “Kitten Bowl’s” official play-by-play announcer, and Boomer Esiason as the Feline Football League’s (FFL) Commissioner. Name: Jalapeño
Position / Style: Fluff Back
Nickname: “The Microwave”
College: South Cat-o-lina State
Received Degree in: String Theory
Quote: “Isn’t it about dinnertime?”
While we don’t want to get jalapeno in this little kitten’s business, I find it quite charming that Jalapeño has a cat-chelor’s degree from South Cat-o-lina State. Or maybe Jalapeño actually received a Cat-ster’s Degree in String Theory. Of course, that might make more sense. Either way, Jalapeño is an accomplished little kitten and deserves to be celebrated for being so. If the eyes don’t sell you, maybe the goofy little nose print might.

Name: Pork Chop
Position / Style: Box Guarder
Nickname: “Orange Crush”
Demeanor: Regal
Stands on: His own four feet
Favorite Film: “My Big Cat Freak Wedding 2″
Quote: “You had me at ‘Meow’.”
Meet Pork Chop. The laziest of beautiful kittens who only stands on his own four feet when he really, really has to. Since he considers himself a member of the royal line (in his mind only), Pork Chop (no relation to Doug Funnie) spends a lot of his time watching sequels to movies that should’ve never been made, like My Big Cat Freak Wedding 2, Princess Diaries 2: The Royal Feline and Miss Cat-geniality 2. Of course, that’s when Pork Chip isn’t participating in the Kitten Bowl or waiting for love from humans.
