21. Tina Turner

You know you’ve made it when someone has people standing in a line on a field spelling out your name. And that is exactly what Tina Turner had when her performance at the Super Bowl started. But, after all, it is Tina Turner so she deserves nothing less.

This icon started her set with “When the Heartache is Over” and led it into a surprise rendition of her cover of “Proud Mary”. And really, it wouldn’t be a Tina Turner performance without a version of this song. It is one of her most popular and gave the world that legendary Tina Turner vibe that we all know and love.

And honestly, this performance is just what you’d expect out of a Tina show. It was high energy and dancing and she didn’t really disappoint. It is pretty far back on the list because it’s just dated anymore. The problem with most of these older performances is that they just weren’t as crazy huge as they are now.

In the 21st century, if this had been the performance, people would have torn it to shreds on the internet. They want their shows big and they want them star-studded and unfortunately this one just isn’t that.
