In 1996, Diana Ross took to the stage. Again, it didn’t really matter what she sang or what happened during her performance because, let’s be real, it’s Diana Ross. She could have just stood there for 12 minutes and all of us would have been completely into the performance.

As of recently, the Super Bowl halftime performances have shied away from getting the stars and musicians of generations past to perform. And really, they should go back to performances like these. They’re just better in general. It’s not a star we see performing as easily as we see Katy Perry or Beyonce.

And while those performances were out of this world, they can happen at any point really. But with Diana Ross, it is rare to see her singing nowadays.
