Here are 25 of the Best Super Bowl Half Time Performances Ever
17. The Who
When you’re taking about uplifting rock songs that make you feel like you’re in a movie and can do anything, the Who is definitely a band that gave us a million of these songs. Don’t believe me? Just watch their Super Bowl halftime performance!
As someone who grew up listening to Baba O’Riley and watching Tommy with my dad, this one was memorable for a completely different reason. But I’m not alone in my nostalgia for it. Many kids listened to the Who with their parents and it just reminds so many of growing up (maybe that’s because the Who is also always featured in movies about growing up for some reason).
And this performance really showed how much people love the Who. The entire audience screamed “It’s only teenage wasteland!” as Roger Daltrey belted out the classic. The thing about the Who’s performance is that they literally didn’t have to do anything except sing like a concert and everyone lost their minds.
Because honestly, it’s the Who. Any of those classic rock bands don’t have to do much. We just want to see them perform so they can stand there and look pretty and we’re all going to lose our minds over it.
