Potter fans have come and gone for another year of festivities at Universal Orlando Resort’s for the 2017 edition of A Celebration of Harry Potter.
And the attendees did not disappoint with the cosplaying.
The 2017 event saw all kinds of fans uniting, and bringing the joy of old characters from the classic Harry Potter series (from Professor Sprout to Mad Eye Moody, may he rest in peace) as well as new characters from Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Scarves, hats, cloaks, even lion hats and small Dobby replicas and more flooded the streets at Universal Orlando Resort, and for just a few days, the world was a little more magical because of it.
"“J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World had a lot to celebrate in 2016,” wrote staff at Pottermore. “And this year’s celebrations in Orlando show that the fans are being inspired to be more creative than ever before.”"
Check out some of our very favorites below:
- Even a Mandrake made an appearance this weekend – and the earmuffs to go along with it, of course.
- There were many Luna Lovegood’s to be seen – and all wonderful – but this particular cosplayer had me doing a double-take, thinking I was seeing Evanna Lynch herself. Not to mention her Bellatrix Lestrange counterpart, who nailed it down to the very mannerisms and eery facial expression. Chills.
- Have you ever seen anything so pure, so precious in your life? Where do I get myself one? Is this on Pinterest? I have a lot of questions that need answering, but I’m mostly just happy, okay?
- If you don’t have friends from every House, can you really call yourself a squad? These ladies gave us all the Hogwarts goals, and truly showed the meaning of unity – and style.
- The eye! The staff! The jacket! Holy Merlin, this guy really killed the game, and had me grieving the loss of Mad Eye Moody all over again (may he rest in peace).
