New Outlander Season 3 Set Photos, Casting News and a Rescue

 Outlander also had a bit of casting news We’ve got your Outlander Season 3 leaked set pictures, official casting announcements and even a daring rescue of a real-life damsel in distress.

The television show phenomenon that is Outlander has officially wrapped filming season three in Scotland. Fans of the show made sure they were close to the set on the last day of filming and of course took lots of pictures. They almost melted down the Internet all the Outlander season three goodies.

Outlander book series author, Diana Gabaldon also took to her Facebook page to share some insight on why fans can take pictures. Apparently, Scotland has a “right to roam law” which means anyone can go anywhere in public and the film company cannot put any barriers to keep people off the set. Lucky for the Outlander film crew fans are respectful and stay clear where the actual filming is taking place.

Casting News!

Meanwhile, Starz has officially announced via Entertainment Weekly the casting of New Zealand actor Gary Young to play Mr. Willoughby and Charlie Hiett to play British Captain, Thomas Leonard in Outlander Season 3.

Book readers know Mr. Willoughby as Jamie Fraser’s drunken best friend who is a Chineses exile that specializes in Eastern medicine man and a talented poet. Hiett plays the noble, but the young Navy Captain Lenora of the ship called the Porpoise. He ends up being the defacto captain of the ship when an outbreak of typhoid kills the majority of the crew.

And finally,  little bit of drama occurred near the set of Outlander on its final days of filming.  STV reports a local woman had fallen near Dunure Castle in South Ayrshire.  Unfortunately, when emergency vehicles responded they found out, they could not get their vehicles into the area due to the difficult terrain. Instead of waiting for an emergency all-terrain vehicle to arrive, the Outlander film crew used their 4X4 to extract the injured woman and get her to the hospital.

We still don’t have a premiere date for Outlander season 3, but it’s good to know that filming continues and from what we have seen, it looks terrific.
