Ellen Doesn’t Get Political But Still Schools Donald Trump

Donald Trump never stood a chance against Ellen Degeneres. Not now, not ever, and especially not when he screened Finding Dory at the White House.

Donald Trump can’t catch a break in Hollywood, especially when those who don’t get political start coming after him. This time, it was Ellen Degeneres. On her show, she started to comment on the travel ban that Trump put into place.

She started it by explaining exactly what the ban did and why people were protesting around the country because of it. But she didn’t want to get too political on her show. So instead, she explained the plot of Finding Dory, a movie that Trump screened for the White House families, to her audience.

For those who don’t know, Finding Dory follows the story of Dory trying to find her parents. She lives in Australia and they live in America. When she gets to America, there is a wall separating her from them and creatures from all walks of life help her be reunited with them.

That is that creatures of every color and variety help her because, as Ellen puts it, that’s what you do. You help people in need no matter what. This travel ban is, at its basest reality, racist and we can’t sit idly by. Hence why people are protesting and taking to the streets in their anger.

But again, as Ellen puts it, we help those who need us. Just like all the fish and otters and creatures did for Dory.

She didn’t get political but her message came across loud and clear. We as people help those in need. It is the way we’re wired and something like our race should not get in the way of that.
