“Enough Is Enough”  – Grey’s Anatomy

Grey’s Anatomy is as much known for it’s love triangles as it is for it’s weird and horrifying medical cases. That’s probably why they made this list more than one (or twice). Always willing to take a risk, creator and showrunner Shonda Rhimes isn’t afraid to consult the most obscure medical texts to pull out cases that are strange and, often, unsettling.

In this particular episode, the doctors are facing a tough case involving a particularly pesky and tenaciously obstructed bowel. Although Grey’s isn’t afraid to take things in a… ahem… gross direction, thankfully there wasn’t a lot of spillage with this one.  While none of the doctors-in-training are usually hype to dive into a backed up intestine, this one peaked the interns’ interest because they spotted what they thought were bags of drugs.

In the season 2 episode, “Enough Is Enough,” the newbies get a big surprise when the X-Rays reveal that the bags of drugs have faces. Turns out, it’s at all. Instead, it’s 10 Judy doll heads. This is exciting news for some, as most of the lady docs have fond memories of Judy dolls from their childhood. It’s not so exciting for the patient, however.  When Meredith asked the patient why he swallowed 10, the patient replied, “Eleven would be too many.”
