Oprah Winfrey is coming back to the talk show world this fall but is doing things a little differently this time around.
After a 25-year run with an award-winning talk show, Oprah Winfrey is getting back in the talk show game. But not with a revival we were all hoping. Instead, she’s joining 60 Minutes as a special contributor come fall. She says she wants to help mend our divided nation.
“I’m so excited and proud to join forces with this historic news program, which for me represents the bastion of journalistic storytelling,” Winfrey said recently. “At a time when people are so divided, my intention is to bring relevant insight and perspective, to look at what separates us, and help facilitate real conversations between people from different backgrounds.”

Executive producer Jeff Fager is happy to have her on board:
"“There is only one Oprah Winfrey. She has achieved excellence in everything she has touched. Her body of work is extraordinary, including thousands of interviews with people from all walks of life. She is a remarkable and talented woman with a level of integrity that sets her apart and makes her a perfect fit for 60 Minutes.”"
If there’s one person who can talk some sense back into this crazy world, I’m willing to bet that one person is Oprah Winfrey. It’ll be exciting to see what she tackles once she gets on 60 Minutes and how much of a difference she can make in the world again. Happy to have you back in the talk show scene, Oprah. Welcome home.
