Beauty and the Beast’s Final Trailer Has Arrived

Never mind the snippets of the new “Beauty and the Beast” duet, there’s lots to pick apart in the new trailer for Disney’s next live-action remake.

Disney had many a fan hooked on Beauty and the Beast‘s live-action version as soon as they announced that Emma Watson would play Belle. Not only is her other most famous role a booklover, she herself also loves books enough to have a social media book club. Honestly, if we had to pick an actress, we probably would have picked her.

However, as things have gone on, signs have been generally quite positive that Disney knows what the fans want.

This seems still true with the release of the final trailer for the film. Check it out below, via Disney’s official YouTube channel for trailers:

Bask in those two and a half minutes, because that’s all we’ll get until March arrives.

One thing that stood out, at least for me, is how Belle’s costumes pop out, color-wise, while she’s in the castle. Even in the rich surroundings, there’s a sense that the colors have been muted. Of course, the Beast’s enchanted rose is another exception, but for the most part, your eyes are drawn to Belle’s bright blues and her flowers. Additionally, it appears that the famous ball scene remains visually stunning — and you’ll note that the Beast wears richer colors then, too.

We also had a few brief peeks at “Be Our Guest”, sung by Ewan McGregor’s Lumiere. It appears that Disney knows better than to alter the other most famous sequence from this movie too much. Those colored lights looked awfully familiar.

Additionally, Luke Evans’ Gaston and Josh Gad’s LeFou had a few seconds to themselves. “Gaston” as a song didn’t appear, but no one meets expectations like Gaston. (My, what a guy.)

Finally, John Legend and Ariana Grande’s duet of the title track also plays over the trailer. It sounds better than it does on paper.
