Here are 13 Actors We Think Can Play the Next Doctor on Doctor Who

11. Hayley Atwell

Hayley Atwell seems to want her hands in everything. The Captain America star has said numerous times about her want to be on Doctor Who. Back in 2015, she was asked on Twitter about it to which she responded “I want to BE Doctor Who”.

While fans like myself want to correct her and tell her that he is not, in fact, Doctor Who but rather the Doctor, the sentiment still stands. She wants the role and we want it for her.

Her show Agent Carter is no longer so there really isn’t much holding her back from taking it on. Plus it would bring Marvel fans to the show and have people interested in Doctor Who they may have never been before.

Part of the joy of a new Doctor is looking at the new fans that will come to the show because of them. With Capaldi, fans of The Thick of It could watch their Malcolm Tucker in a whole new light.

So by getting Hayley to join the cast, there could definitely be a new sense of renewal along with her. Renewal in the fans yes but also, again, she’s a woman and that would just be an amazing thing to see.
