Unboxing: J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World Crate #2

We unbox the second in the brand new Wizarding World Crate in the Lootcrate series from J.K. Rolwing. This month’s theme? “A Matter of Time.”

Back in the summer of 2016, during the height of Pottermania 2.0 with the release of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Lootcrate announced a new partnership with J.K. Rowling to do single themed “Wizarding World” crates on a bimonthly basis.

The first, a box welcoming us to the wizarding world was released in October, and contained such goodies as a Funko Pop! (we got a Newt Scamander), a MinaLima tee, and Ron’s poor owl Pigwidgeon, as well as a nice keychain. It was so nice in fact that we here at Wizards&Whatnot decided to do unboxings of our crates every time one arrives.

For their newest crate, “A Matter of Time” there was a slight hiccup delay in the shipping process, so our box didn’t arrive until very late Thursday, after we were already focused on the Celebration of Harry Potter. But with the weekend in Orlando over, it was time finally to see what treats were in store. Soda Bunny grabbed his Slytherin scarf and school robes and helped us dig in. Check out what we found inside!

Let’s check out the table of contents, which once again came in scroll format.

As has become the norm, all Lootcrates come with a tee-shirt and a Funko Pop! figure. In the Pop! sweepstakes, we had a one in four chance of landing Hermione or Ron in their Yule Ball finery, or Luna Lovegood, or Sirius Black, all from Funko’s latest series of Harry Potter figures.

Lucky for us, we landed Luna! (Lucky because we already own the Hermione and Ron, and didn’t want Sirius. Sorry Sirius.) Soda Bunny welcomed her to the growing Pop! collection.

Check out the Snape tee. It’s been one year since Alan Rickman died, and this tee-shirt tribute is a beautiful way to mark the anniversary.

I’m not the biggest sock wearer, but these 9 3/4 Hogwarts Express socks are as cute as they come, and would match a Gryffindor’s uniform nicely as well.

This create also included quite a bit of jewelry. Everyone assumed there would be a time turner in the crate. But the prophecy pin and the Deathly Hallows pocket watch were a very nice surprise.

Closer inspection out of the plastic revealed the watch has a very nice weight to it.

And a beautiful face as well.

All in all, an extremely satisfactory crate this month.

We look forward to next month’s crate, which will be a Hogwarts House focused one. Brace yourselves: Hufflepuff merch is coming. Maybe we can ask Soda Bunny if he can wear a Hufflepuff scarf for the occasion.
