The Screen Actor’s Guild Awards, otherwise known as the SAG Awards are on tonight and the actors have dressed to impress–each other.
It’s that time once again–another step towards the Oscar finale of awards season with the Screen Actors Guild Awards (otherwise known as the SAG Awards). This is the awards show that’s by and for the acting community, and therefore is considered one of the highest honors to receive–for some even more precious than an Oscar.
But it’s also the moment for the acting community to come out and do a red carpet event where they dress for each other. The SAGs are not a Major Award Show that’s aired on network TV–most people tonight are watching Steve Harvey and the Miss Universe pageant. Which means that the red carpet is a more low key affair, where the only people who the attendees have to impress is their fellow actor, and the mani cams are are best left to other evenings.
That different kind of pressure means a different kind of red carpet–one that’s not nearly as showy as it is classy. Let’s check out some of the best looks of the evening and a few of the more embarrassing misses.
