Ms. Johnson interacts with fans, other writers, famous people, not-famous people, and even total randos. She’s tons of fun, in addition to being smart and insightful. And she shares plenty of updates and pictures of her pup, Zelda.
I’m not sure how she gets any writing done, but she does. As you can see from her bibliography above, she’s really prolific. Good thing, too. I’ve recently made the decision to quit my two-year Nordic murder mystery obsession and immerse myself in young adult fiction. I’m in the middle of listening to the audiobook of The Name of the Star, from the Shades of London series. It pulled me in from page one. Her characters are so real, too. She writes from a place of kindness, although her work looks at the dark side of humanity (aaaand beyooooond!). Oh and I literally LOL every few pages.
Maureen’s tweets are as funny and thoughtful as her books. I need that in my life
