Potter Fans Raise Their Wands at Ollivander’s to Honor Actor John Hurt

The actor who played Ollivander in the Harry Potter series, John Hurt, passed away yesterday and fans are honoring him by raising their wands.

Fans all over the world felt the death of John Hurt yesterday evening. The actor was famous to the Harry Potter kids because of his role as Ollivander in the film series. He was the man who gave Harry his first wand and, to many, he was a very important staple of the series as a whole.

We all remember that first moment that Harry stepped into the wand shop in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. John was an actor of many talents and worked with so many throughout his long career but today, fans honored him the only way then knew how.

At both Ollivander’s in Unverisal’s The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, fans held their wands up for the actor. We’re still waiting to see if the celebration will have a tribute to the actor like they did last year for Alan Rickman but since John passed right at the beginning of  the celebration, we’re not sure if they’ll be able to.

We hope something gets done for the actor though. We love him and everything he did for this series and we want him to be honored in whatever way they can. John Hurt was an amazing talent and he will surely be missed.

"I remember every wand I’ve ever sold, Mr. Potter. It so happens that the phoenix whose tail feather resides in your wand gave … It is curious that you should be destined for this wand when its brother gave you that scar"
