Millie Bobby Brown’s Making the Jump to Movies for Godzilla

Stranger Things’ breakout actress, Millie Bobby Brown, will combat another monster in the upcoming Godzilla: King of Monsters.

Although the entire young cast of Stranger Things has impressed quite thoroughly, Millie Bobby Brown, better known as the Eggo-loving Eleven, might be the most impressive of them all. She even has a SAG Award nomination just for her own work in the Netflix series. Now, though, she’ll move onto a far, far bigger screen — and take on more than just a Demogorgon.

Nerdist reports that she has some sort of role in Godzilla: King of Monsters, the very oddly-named sequel to the most recent Godzilla film. Hopefully, Legendary will realize that they have an excellent actress on their hands and give her a substantial part.

Moreover, there’s probably quite a big budget associated with the film. After all, Nerdist reports that the film will be the next entry into the shared universe of movie monsters of old. (Comic book superheroes can do it. Why can’t King Kong and Godzilla?)

If she can manage to impress a little or hold her own, perhaps the buzz will continue about a possible young Princess Leia film. (Han Solo will have his. Why can’t Leia?) In fact, art crossing over the Stranger Things cast with Star Wars has already hit the internet, proving that there’s a demand. Rogue One proved that spinoff movies can make lots and lots of money. It managed to have the highest domestic gross of 2016 despite a mid-December release! Such is the power of Star Wars. If Stranger Things additionally keeps its popularity beyond just a big first season in its sophomore effort, the combination seems pretty natural, at least to our way of thinking.

For now, we’ll have to wait and see. Godzilla: King of Monsters currently has a Mar. 19, 2019 release date. The second season of Stranger Things also arrives this year on Netflix.
