Crazy Ex-Girlfriend Season 2 Episode 12 Recap: Is Josh Free in Two Weeks?

Rebecca and Josh are getting married in two weeks but it seems like things aren’t going as smoothly as they had hoped. Especially for Rebecca.

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend has taken us all on quite a wild ride this season but this episode really tugged at our heartstrings. Rebecca was planning a wedding, Josh wasn’t helping (but no one really was) and we got to see Nathaniel struggle with his feelings.

Rebecca Plans a Wedding

The ever lovely Rebecca was planning the entire wedding alone. She was trying to do a DIY wedding and it just ended up being more work for her. Everything was seemingly falling apart and she needed help.

But Paula had a test, she didn’t reach out to Valencia or Heather, and Josh couldn’t help her. So, she just drove herself crazy until she finally had a breakdown. And that breakdown led to Valencia becoming Rebecca’s wedding planner.

Honestly, it was all very sweet and fun, but the last scene of the episode stole the show and made this one of the best episodes yet.

Nathaniel Gets Jealous and Sick

The wedding planning didn’t just hit Rebecca hard, it also forced Nathaniel to look at his feelings towards Rebecca. He feels gross and not like himself, so he decides to change that by downing a cleansing smoothie. The problem is that the smoothie makes him super sick and he ends up pooping his pants.

When he comes to work still sick as a dog, Darryl and the other men decide to help Nathaniel relax an sing him a song about how it is manly to take a nap.

But through all this, it is just super clear that Nathaniel has feelings for Rebecca. And to be honest, that’s who I really want to see together anyway.

Patrick and Rebecca

Patrick is Rebecca’s delivery man. Played by Seth Green, Patrick keeps bringing all the wedding supplies to Rebecca and when she loses it, he’s there to hear her out. It’s an interesting dynamic and one that is honestly very necessary to this episode.

The Disappointing Dad

Rebecca’s dad disappointing her is a theme throughout this show. He never shows up and she assumes he just doesn’t want to come to her wedding. He RSVPs that he is trapped in Alaska and when she finally goes back to work, she complains to Nathaniel about it.

Now, maybe it is just because I love my dad, but anything like the final scene of this episode has me sobbing like Darryl was. Rebecca’s dad shows up because Nathaniel sends his private jet for him. It is sweet and weirdly romantic (of Nathaniel, not Rebecca and her dad. Ew, that’s weird).

So maybe next week (which we can assume will feature the wedding), Rebecca will finally come to her senses and be with Nathaniel.
