Season 1: A Season Of Growth

Season 1 was a wild ride. The few things that stood out to me the most, I talked about above. These are moments that truly guided and changed the show. But there are also so many other minor things that shaped each character throughout the season. From the first episode to the last episode, not one single character (who’s still alive) is the same. They’ve all experienced something and I think season 1 is where you got a feel for who each one of them is.

Bellamy learned through the season that his “people” also include the adults of the Ark and not just the delinquents and his sister. Him and Clarke both grew into strong leaders. Raven experienced emotional and physical pain that really showcased her persistence and resilience. Monty and Jasper both found a purpose on the ground. Abby realized she needed to finally do the right thing and tell the Arkers about the drop in Oxygen. Kane and Jaha finally started to feel guilt about everything they’ve needed to do on the Ark to survive. These character arcs this season compete changed the show in season 2. In a good way.
