The thing about Diego and his singing is that it is adorable. He’s not the best singer in the world but for what the song is meant to do, it works. For context, Manolo is in love with Maria and when she comes back to town, he sings her this song so she knows his feelings.

The only problem is that the rulers of the afterlife have a bet on who Maria will fall in love with and keep interfering with Manolo and Maria trying to love one another. But if you listen to the lyrics of this song, it is just so promising and amazing and Diego does a really great job with it.
