18. His Feelings on Trump

For most Americans, having actors from other countries commenting on American politics rubs people the wrong way. (I’m not one of those people, American politics effects the whole world but I guess I get it.) But with Diego, his stance on Trump is different.

As a Mexican actor who is very proud of his heritage, Diego explains his feelings on Trump in a great way. He’s proud of his country and where he is from and Trump negatively looks down upon his home. For those who don’t know (have you been under a rock?), Donald Trump wants to build a wall to keep Mexicans out of America.

Now, sidebar. Maybe it is because I’m from Southern California or maybe it is because I’m just a decent person, but we can’t just build a wall to keep Mexicans out. They have just as much right as anyone else to come into this country. You think the Native Americans wanted all those white people taking over? No.

We’re all immigrants into this country yet now we’re suddenly against immigrants? It is stupid. But the way that Diego tackles this issue shows his intelligence and also who he is as a person. He doesn’t agree with Trump and his views but he expresses what it means to him as a Mexican born actor, not from a political stand point.

And also, you know, this tweet is iconic now.
