15. The Book of Life

All the animated films we have coming out are absolutely breathtaking anymore. It is just the way movies are. They have to make the adults sob and the kids ask their parents and older siblings what is going on.

And The Book of Life is no different. Except that it is one of the most beautiful animated movies to ever exist. And that statement includes all of Pixar’s beautiful movies as well. Because when you watch The Book of Life, it just changes the way you view animated films.

It isn’t even just the animation that makes it gorgeous (though the way this film looks is absolutely incredible) but it is also the storyline. Following the story of three children and their love triangle, two rulers from the afterlife are fighting to rule the land of the remembered.

Part of the bet is that Manolo (Diego Luna) will be the one to marry Maria (Zoe Saldana). Of course there is trickery and Manolo ends up dying. But he sings his song and gets rewarded with a second chance at life and a second chance with Maria.

It is honestly just so original and amazing and this movie is one everyone should see.
