23. She’s resourceful

Where did Arya keep her oysters, clams, and cockles cart when she wasn’t using it? How did she even manage to score the freshest sea life in the city? How in the world was she able to chop up two Freys and make mincemeat pie out of them? These are questions that may never get answered, so we can only assume Arya is very very good at keeping a low profile.

Arya knows by now that life isn’t about to hand anything over to her. If she wants to move forward, she has to take things for herself. She uses every available option at her disposal to get what she and her traveling companions want. This was made clear when she took Jaqen H’ghar up on his offer to kill off three people she named as a reward for saving him. He eventually helps her and her friends flee Harrenhal with not so much as a scratch on them. In showing people she’s willing to trust at least a little bit, it just opens her up to meeting more valuable characters in her travels.

One of Arya’s main downfalls is her cockiness. She can make a situation go in her favor, but veering away from her goals in order to achieve a selfish one is what blinds her and could make her sought after by the Lannisters in retaliation for killing Lord Frey. Let’s hope she was careful when she did that.
