25 reasons Arya should win the Iron Throne
21. She knows the importance of family
This was one of the more touching scenes in Season 5. In “High Sparrow,” Arya is set to give it all up and become a Faceless Man, but she can’t quite let go of her strong ties to family. Even though she hasn’t seen any of them since Season 1, the Stark and Tully bond still lives on within her.
Not getting rid of the sword her brother Jon specifically had made for her shows she was never fully on board with leaving Arya Stark behind to begin with. The family name was obviously too important, and something to be held onto. Being alone in the world doesn’t mean you have no one in your corner. Arya holds up many of her family’s traditions like honor and loyalty, even though she was forced into becoming self-reliant as she travels around the world.
Season 7 is opening us up to whispers about a Stark children reunion. Arya even said she’s going “home” after killing The Waif in Season 6’s “No One.” Even the thought of someone you care about can get you through the day, and we like to think that’s partially what kept Arya going on her own all these years.
