15. She’s not intimidated by threats

Arya has never been afraid to stand up for herself. But she also knows  when to pull back instead of making a situation worse. In this season 1 clip from “The Kingsroad,” she and her direwolf Nymeria are able to stand up to the sadistic future Boy King when he tries to talk a big game.

People try to pick on Arya all the time, and we think it’s mostly due to her small stature. But just because you’re small doesn’t mean you can’t fight back. When necessary, Aria has no problem standing up for herself, even under the threat of death. Since she is very in tune to other people and their intentions, she can sort of feel out when someone is actually a threat, and when someone is just blowing smoke.

In places like King’s Landing, everyone’s political agenda is hidden away in less conspicuous ways. Elsewhere in the world, people may just chop your head off if you mess with them. Arya’s skills in fighting and verbal sparring just add to her entire steadfast persona. In a world where people are constantly pursuing you just because of your last name, it’s good to be able to differentiate between a legitimate threat and someone who can be easily defeated.
