10. She’s not no one

“A Girl is Arya Stark, and I’m going home.”

Haunting words from Arya as she leaves the House of Black and White for the final time in Season 6’s “No One.” It’s been a long road for Arya and the Faceless Men, dating all the way back to Season 2 when she first met Jaqen. It seems she was flirting with the idea of becoming No One, but in the end decided it wasn’t for her. Otherwise, she probably would have dropped Needle in the water in Season 5’s “High Sparrow.”

It’s a long journey in finding yourself out. In order to truly grow, we have to learn something new about ourselves every day. We find out our voices, and learn to love the someone we’ve become. It’s a nice feeling being someone, and Arya just wasn’t ready to flip her life around to become No One.

The Faceless Men may actually have been a successful venture for Arya if she was just able to keep her name. Assassins seem a necessary evil in Westeros, and she was at least prepared to take out the Thin Man in Season 5’s “The Dance of Dragons.” Arya has a lot of experiences under her belt that made her someone. We just hope you can find that same kind of feeling, but with much less stabby thoughts.
