9. She’s got her own code of respect

There’s a few things Arya is clear on: Her kill list, Death being the one God, and her name. Much of what has now become her moral compass comes from the major influences in her life. Most of the time she’s been around strong men, and it was nice to see her have a good female influence with Season 6’s Lady Crane. In this Season 2 episode “What is Dead May Never Die,” however, Yoren of the Black Brothers tells a story that inspires Arya’s kill list, setting her on a path of doling out justice when it’s really needed.

Arya is very respectful of people until they give her a reason not to be. We can chalk this up to her time living as a Highborn princess, even as she tried to defy her status every step of the way. She treats others how she wants to be treated, and doesn’t let anyone try and push her around. As far as characters in the Thrones-verse goes, she stands out as the sort of unique Stark aberration . Her moral compass is guided not necessarily by how she was raised, but by her own experiences, making her a character who stands out and doesn’t fit in any specific mold.

Arya knows when to listen to someone who is giving her worthwhile advice. We hope this means things will stay in her favor for the time being.
