The Ministry of Magic and the Power They Didn’t Seem to Have

The Ministry of Magic was the political force behind the wizarding world in England. The only problem with it is that it seemed to have zero power.

Ever stop and think about how the Ministry of Magic never really did much? Maybe that’s because of Fudge but for a political power, it didn’t really do its job. Well, to be fair, the Ministry did make sure that Muggles didn’t know wizards existed. That’s about it.

It’s almost the same thing with MACUSA. Everyone else seems to be the ones who solve everything and then the Ministry and MACUSA show up afterwards to try and clean up the mess. What kind of governing body is that? If they weren’t in charge of the aurors then it’d be okay. But it almost seems like the aurors work on their own agendas.

Most are part of organizations against the Dark Lord or Grindelwald but they don’t work on that while part of the Ministry or MACUSA. Why? What is even the point of the governing body then? If there isn’t going to be someone in charge of forcing the aurors to look at certain cases, why even have them?

Honestly, that might have been J.K Rowling’s point. These governing bodies do nothing and the people and wizards have to defend themselves. But whether or not that’s what she wanted her message to be, both the Ministry of Magic and MACUSA really tend to be pointless and just stop our heroes from doing their jobs.
