5. Patrick Stewart
Patrick Stewart is a gem. Truly. He is someone we should all look up to. From his amazing work as a Shakespearean actor to being vocal about LGBTQ rights and protection against violence towards women, Patrick seems to be a perfect man.
As a boy, Stewart watched his father beat his mother and it has made him very vocal about domestic violence, especially when towards a woman. “Even if she had [done something to provoke my father to hit her], violence is a choice. And it’s a choice that a man makes. We can choose to stop it.”
He gave an entire speech for Amnesty International UK in October of 2009 where he talked about having witnessed the violence.
It is truly inspiring to have a man as brilliant as Patrick Stewart on the side of women. Day in and day out he works towards making the world a better place and he is just a generally amazing man. It helps that he is also one of the best Star Trek captains of all time to boot! But much like Jean-Luc Picard, Patrick Stewart just wants to make the world a better place for everyone and he does his part to make it such.
