8. Leslie Clark – The Leslie

Let’s talk The Leslie. I can’t say enough good things about this web series. Although it doesn’t show the “coming out” story line, the series picks up immediately after Leslie Clark comes out as a lesbian to her friends, family, and community. Okay, okay, okay, this is supposed to be about coming out stores- but hear me out for a minute, okay?

Coming out is important, and necessary, and admirable, and it’s needed on TV. And I’m about to cover a ton of shows that absolutely nail this aspect. But once you come out, once that story line is over, then what?

This web series is addressing exactly that. What happens after you come out? What’s your next step? Do you conform to the “lesbian stereotypes” like wearing a snapback? Luckily for Leslie, she has an eclectic group of friends to help get her through. Unluckily for Leslie though, none of them are gay, but all of them think they know exactly what they’re talking about when it comes to being gay. Sound familiar? Are you with me now?

So, watch this web series because it’s taking the story a little bit farther and finally answering the question of “now what?”
