Michelle Obama’s Most Fabulous Fashion Moments
By Ani Bundel
One of the most gorgeous of Michelle O’s coat and dress sets, a Monique Lhuillier number as she stood with First Lady of Japan Akie Abe to greet the couple on their trip to America.
Here she is in Tadashi Shoji at the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s 45th Annual Legislative Conference. In the last years of the administration, Shoji, who has designed plenty of Octavia Spencer’s red carpet gowns, became her new go-to.
A second Monique Lhuillier dress, this time to meet the Pope during his historic visit to the United States in 2015.
For the 2015 Chinese State Dinner with Chinese President Xi Jinping and his wife Peng Liyuan, Michelle O chose an off the shoulder mermaid Vera Wang dress. If this seems a bit not her, it’s because it was a last minute change to make sure she wore a dress designed by someone of Chinese heritage.
And one of her better daywear looks, in Missoni at the 2015 Milan Expo. (One always has to look fashionable in Milan, it’s the rules.)
