The 2016 trip to Cuba by the Obamas was historic in many ways, and that includes her daywear outfit designed by Naeem Khan.

But nothing could have prepared us for the chain mail dress. Designed by Donatella Versace, Michelle O shocked everyone when she wore this to the 2016 Italian State Dinner. (That’s the wife of Italian Prime Minister, Agnese Landini, standing next to her, being completely overshadowed.)

It was a red white and blue fest at the 2016 Democratic National Convention Speech. But though it featured such heavy hitters like Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Bill Clinton and Hillary, everyone agreed afterwards that it was Michelle who stole the show, both with the best and most impassioned speech of the week, but also in her blue Christian Siriano dress.

And finally, as the final months of 2016 drew near, she and Obama attended the Black Congressional Caucus as President and First Lady for the last time. To celebrate she wore a stunning gold Naeem Khan gown.
