Maisie Williams just signed on to Aardman Animation’s new film, Early Man. She’ll voice a Stone Age rebel in a battle to save her civilization.

Maisie Williams will play Stone Age hero Goona in Early Man, the latest film from Nick Park of Aardman Animation. She joins Tom Hiddleston and Eddie Redmayne in the new feature from the makers of Wallace and Gromit.

Early Man

Like me, Maisie is very excited about this project

"I’m a huge Aardman fan – having the chance to work with Nick Park is a dream come true, especially as I get to voice such a fantastic character as Goona. I can’t wait for audiences to meet her."

Early Man takes place at start of the Bronze Age, as a band of Stone Age rebels unite to save their way of life. Ms. Williams’ Goona joins Eddie Redmayne’s Dug to fight Tom Hiddleston’s snooty Lord Nooth, governor of a fancy new Bronze Age town.

Commenting on his involvement in the project Hiddleston said

"I have been a fan of Nick Park and Aardman for as long as I can remember, and am incredibly honoured to be working with Nick and the team on this adventure. I’m thrilled to be able to breathe some semblance of life into this hysterical villain and to work with Eddie for the first time. ‘Early Man’ made me laugh out loud when I read it. Lord Nooth is larger than life in every respect. I can’t wait for audiences to meet him."

More Maisie

This isn’t Maisie William’s only project. She is in high demand. Of course, we know about Game of Thrones. She’s in 5 other films that are currently in pre- or post-production, or just about the be released. She plays a character named Lucy in iBoy, a SciFi thriller about a guy who gets superpowers after a weird accident. A Storm in the Stars is about the romance between Percy Shelley and early feminist Mary Wollstonecraft (Shelly). Yes, they’re the parents of Frankenstein author Mary Shelly. Sorry about the spoiler.

But wait, there’s more. Departures looks like it will be a tear-jerker, and The Forest of Hands and Teeth is based on the post-apocalyptic zombie YA novel by Carrie Ryan. Also coming soon is Stealing Silver, a short from director Mark Lobatto.
