Steven Moffat Reveals His Favorite Season 9 Episodes of Doctor Who
Season 9 of Doctor Who was one of the best of the new seasons and Steven Moffat has now revealed his favorite episodes of the season!
Doctor Who has been getting mixed reviews since Steven Moffat took over as showrunner after the tenth Doctor’s departure. But this last season has proven that Doctor Who is still the show we all love and are eager to watch.
With the Doctor forgetting Clara and the amazing finale, you’d think that Moffat would have an episode later in the season as his favorite. But Cultbox is reporting that his favorites were, in fact “The Zygon Invasion” and “The Zygon Inversion”.
In an interview with Doctor Who Magazine, Moffat expressed his feelings about those episodes. “‘These are the episodes that will break us,’ I remember saying to [executive producer Brian Minchin]. But I do love those Zygon episodes. I absolutely love them. They’re probably my favourites of [2015].”
Steven also said that the episodes were his favorites because of how unprepared they had been for them going into the two-parter. “I had this insane conversation with [director Daniel Nettheim] where he was saying ‘This bit doesn’t work. What am I going to do? I’m shooting on Monday.’ And this is about Wednesday. I said – and I didn’t mean it ironically – ‘I told you, I’m going to get up early tomorrow and fix it.’ And that made total sense to me, but Dan looked at me, like, what?! But that’s the job.”
The Best of Season 9
Moffat, while I don’t agree, it makes sense for you. Those episodes had some incredible moments and they were pretty amazingly written. But still there is no sadder moment than the Doctor playing Clara’s theme on a guitar as she flies away from him.
