Dolly Parton – Hannah Montana
Dolly Parton is the greatest of all time. She has more talent in the tip of her wig than the rest of us have in our entire being, and she is just plain delightful, and never let her fame make her any less humble. Her spot on Disney Channel’s Hannah Montana proves that Parton will never too be too far from her roots.
Parton plays Aunt Dolly, Hannah’s godmother. Although Parton has proven her chops as an actress, this particular role wasn’t much of a stretch for her. Just like the character on the show, Dolly Parton is actually Miley Cyrus’ godmother IRL and been endlessly instrumental in her music and career. Aunt Dolly appeared in a handful of episodes and as a result, she became pretty famous with the tween set.
She says on her website, “Little kids just see me on the street and just point – ‘Aunt Dolly!’ or ‘Hi Aunt Dolly!’ – and it’s just been so cute!
We all know Parton doesn’t need some kid show to pay the bills or garner her fame, but it’s just so endearing that she’d do this for her goddaughter – even though some folks could argue Miley was almost as big a star at the time. Dolly Parton appearing on Hannah Montana is like Beyonce working at the carwash.
