“Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” Season 4 Episode 10 Synopsis: “The Patriot”

“Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” starts the tenth episode of its fourth season with its main focus on Director Mace. We’ve got the official synopsis for you!

We’re already trying to guess how long it will take Agents of SHIELD to reveal the Melinda May LMD to our SHIELD friends. With the synopsis for the tenth episode, it might be a few more episodes before Coulson and crew discover the Cavalry isn’t the Cavalry.

"Separated from their team, Coulson and Mack discover a shocking secret about Mace, leaving all of S.H.I.E.L.D. in a precarious position, on “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” TUESDAY, January 17"

This episode also ushers in the return of General Glenn Talbot, whose presence is always welcome. He’s a great foil for Coulson.

So what’s Mace’s secret going to be? My thought is that they’re going to kind of go back to his comic book roots. He’s not actually an Inhuman, but rather had some form of super serum similar to what turned Steve Rogers into Captain America.

This would also be a huge blow to the Inhumans initiative. If it’s leaked to the public that the Director of SHIELD was lying about his genetic makeup, that won’t go well. Which is a very odd thing to type. No amount of PR will save that boat.

Keep in mind that Jeffrey Mace in the comics is also the Patriot (hey! That’s the title of the episode!). He’s the third iteration of Captain America, but I don’t think Agents of SHIELD will go that route. Even if it would make Phil Coulson’s day.

We’ll see what lies in store come Tuesday evening!
