Mark Hamill Reads Donald Trump’s Meryl Streep Tweets as the Joker

Mark Hamill channels his inner Joker once again to read Donald Trump’s Twitter rant against Meryl Streep after her unapologetic speech at the Golden Globes.

In addition to playing Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars saga films, Mark Hamill has expertly voiced the Joker since Batman: The Animated Series began in 1992. While he’s not the only guy who’s voiced the Clown Prince of Crime, he’s certainly one of the best. Most recently, he returned to voice the Joker in The Killing Joke animated film.

Some of Hamill’s best Joker work actually has nothing to with Batman, though. When the new year began, Hamill used Twitter to spread Trump’s own new year message. In the voice of the Joker, Hamill read Trump’s tweet about wishing a Happy New Year to his “many enemies”.

After Hamill’s tweet spread like wildfire, Hamill entertained the idea of creating an app to transform all of Trump’s tweets into Joker audio.

And though we haven’t gotten an app yet, Hamill’s at it again. This week, he reads Trump’s tweets aimed at Meryl Streep. In case you missed it, the Golden Globes awarded Meryl Streep the Lifetime Achievement Award. She used her acceptance speech as a chance to lay in on Trump and give him a piece of her mind. She spoke of the performance that moved her most in 2016 for being so effective in making “its intended audience laugh and show its teeth”. Referring to the time Trump imitated a disabled reporter, she delivered a compelling speech.

Of course, Trump fired back the next day.

You really don’t even have to read those, because Mark Hamill has prepared to do it for you. In character as the Joker. He tweeted out another audio clip accompanied by an incredible Joker photo, which you can listen to below!

I think it’s pretty fascinating that Donald Trump hasn’t responded to this yet. But then again, does he really want to incur the wrath of Mark Hamill, or rather, Mark Hamill as the Joker? It would probably be hilarious, though.
