8. Mark Sloan

McSteamy rocked because he was laid back, but this also meant no one ever took him seriously. It’s unfortunate because he was just as smart as everyone else. Being emotionally detached as a result of his upbringing, Mark is unusually supportive of all his colleagues.

Really, Mark’s just lookin’ for love (and he’s doing it in some of the wrong places, to be honest). Though many of his relationships don’t work out, he keeps being a good friend regardless. When Addison told him to wait for 60 days, he did and lied about cheating so she wouldn’t feel guilty about her own infidelity. Plus, any relationship Callie’s ever been in, he supported. Oh, a crazy gunman opens fire in the hospital? There goes Mark saving Lexie and Alex’s lives while Lexie has the audacity to tell Alex ‘I love you’ right in front of Mark’s face! Derek punched Mark in the face on several occasions, and Mark still acted like his best friend.

Because once you’re in Mark’s life, you’re in Mark’s life forever. While Mark was meant to be the “bad boy” for the show, he was too charming to be a real antagonist.

McSteamy’s not that far from McDreamy, so it’s all good.
