9. Teddy Altman

Teddy may very well be the least selfish person on this entire list. Which is to say, it’s very difficult not to like her.

When Teddy first arrived, we got the love triangle between her, Cristina and Owen. But eventually, Cristina realized that Teddy was really the “cardio god” that she claimed to be. After deciding she would rather be a great doctor than in a relationship, Teddy helped Cristina realize her full potential as a surgeon. Basically, post-Burke, Cristina didn’t have a lot to do. She was too good (which is partially why she was written off the show), but Teddy gave Cristina’s unparalleled drive some humanity. Without questioning Cristina, Teddy taught her all she knew and supported her as a friend.

And when she wasn’t propping up Cristina, Teddy was marrying Henry Burton so he could use her insurance and taking care of the terminally ill guy who did his best to be her guy. Obviously, Scott Foley found another Shonda show to be a part of, but Henry and Teddy could’ve had it all. They deserved to have it all. By the nature of Grey’s Anatomy, nobody gets a happy ending, but I wish Teddy and Henry found theirs.
