The Defenders Drops New Photos and Information

Just in case you forgot about Netflix’s upcoming superhero crossover series, here are some fresh photos and information about Marvel’s The Defenders.

Once we make it through Iron Fist, Netflix will finally premiere Marvel’s The Defenders, throwing together Matt Murdock, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Danny Rand for one big crossover event in the form of an actual miniseries.

Entertainment Weekly posted nine new photos, starting off with a group shot of the four heroes:

Of course, there need to be some individual shots of each of the four main characters. Notably, each character’s photo uses different lighting effects reminiscent of their individual show’s logo and lighting. So, Daredevil gets red, Jessica Jones gets purple, Luke Cage gets yellow, and Iron Fist has that greenish-yellow.

Entertainment Weekly also quotes Charlie Cox as saying Daredevil’s “lost” at the start of the series. That makes a lot of sense, considering how the end of Season 2 of Daredevil ended on a ridiculously low note with the breakup of Nelson & Murdock.

Here’s an extra photo of Danny Rand/Iron Fist, since we know the least about him. That’s Colleen Wing beside him. (Iron Fist comes out in March, by the way.) We just want to note that he could possibly be shirtless in this photo. He also doesn’t have a shirt on in his individual shot and the group shot above.

We also have a look at how that arrest is playing out for Luke Cage. Spoilers: it’s not going well.

Here’s what Simone Missick (Misty Knight) about one of the photos she’s featured in alongside Jessica Jones, proving that there will definitely be a lot of interaction between each show’s cast.

Finally, here’s our very first look at Sigourney Weaver’s villain, mysteriously only given the name Alexandra:

In the accompanying EW article, there’s very little in the way of detail about this character. Since Marvel and Netflix managed to snag Sigourney Weaver, though, we have no worries about the villainous Alexandra holding her own against the Defenders.

Finally, EW also confirmed a summer 2017 release date for The Defenders. Since Iron Fist drops in March, that means you have time to rewatch both seasons of DaredevilJessica Jones, and Luke Cage as well as Iron Fist before the new series hits Netflix.
