Hannah is wearing business runway casual, which is a clothing category I just made up, but I’m certain is only is worn well by women like Heidi and Naomi. She’s also here to be a Fitbit commercial, because they really did pay a lot of money. Christian Siriano, Kelly Osborne and Aya Kanai are all here tonight. The Tim Gunn Save™, as we were reminded at the top of the hour, is no longer a factor.

Mushy Middle

Tieler: A GO board.

A’kai: Yawn…But an impeccably tailored yawn.

Molly: The mottled fabric makes an ok pant. The top is a little hippy dippy.

Chris: A badly made workout top paired with ill fitting Khols matchy pieces

Allie: It’s not obvious she didn’t get everything done. The judges don’t realize it either, and we at home probably would have not either had we not seen the workroom drama. The judges think that the top being not lined was a deliberate choice, for instance. And they love the fact that it actually could work from day to night, with the blue workday pants.

Hawwa: The dress is far better when the skirt wrap part is pulled back and the colors are allowed to fly free and in your face. She’s the only one who had a “day to night” reveal in her outfit, and that impressed the judges. Kelly loves the color block and how it’s places against the print. Christian says it feels the most fashion forward on the runway.

Chelsea: Neoprene….Palazzo…. pants… in an overall format. Huh. Welp, it’s a choice. A very interesting one. Perhaps the most interesting thing on it. I’m not sure it’s day to night. Neither are the judges. But they don’t care, because it’s just that interesting. The sporty spice feel speaks to all of them. And apparently that’s enough to hand her the win. Though personally I would say Hawwaa was robbed, I can’t hate on this. It was *the* most interesting thing on the runway by a mile.

Cartier: A Yawn that’s not even impeccably tailored. The dress underneath is way too short to be a day or office appropriate. The jacket over it helps some, but really it’s all night. Aya points out that how she tried to jazz up the dress–the fringe the lace, are all on trend, not fashion forward.

Izzy: I like the plaid striping through the little black dress, but I will say it’s not that much to write home about. Another one that too short to be appropriate for day, and not interesting enough for night. Kelly says it’s not her. Hannah says it’s a nice dress, but they expected more.

Rene: Totally 1988 LA, or 1991 Miami. When he describes his woman (64, with a facelift) Kelly’s jaw hits the floor. Aya calls him out for doing the cage effect for three weeks running. Hannah is unimpressed.

Cartier is dismissed as safe immediately, leaving Rene’s “cutout crutch” versus Izzy’s “not-her dress.” But when push comes to shove, they’re not ready to get rid of the girl with a plant coming out of her head. Rene and his bizarre ideas of what 60-something year old women wear is out. He’s not sad though. He shows off for the judges on the way out, with a cartwheel and a drop split. If only all contestants left the show in such high spirits.
