Peter Dinklage Is Up For A Role in Avengers: Infinity War
By I. A. Melton
Could Peter Dinklage be lining up his post Game of Throne gigs with a slew of superhero movies? All signs are pointing to, Yes.
According to Variety, it looks like Peter Dinklage is jumping in deep with Marvel Studios. He’s being considered for a role in Avengers: Infinity War and its untitled sequel. Not surprisingly Marvel has yet to comment on the rumor, but the timing would be perfect for Dinklage. With film wrapping up for Game of Thrones Season 7, Dinklage could jump over and film Avengers: Infinity War. Filming for the Avenger’s movie is scheduled to start sometime in January 2017.
This would not be Peter Dinklage’s first superhero movie. Dinklage last appeared in X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014) as Bolivar Trask. Considering Trask is the property of 20th Century Fox, and the movie took place in 1973, it’s safe to assume Dinklage is not reprising that role for Avengers: Infinity War.
We have some ideas who Peter Dinklage could be playing in Avengers: Infinity War. Since the Avengers series will center around dealing with supervillain Thanos, we could easily see take the role of Celstial or Master Order. Both have deep roots in the Thanos storyline and would make sense if they appeared in the Avengers: Infinity War storyline. A character Dinklage would be perfect for would be the master strategist called The Watcher. Unfortunately, this character appeared in the X-Men comics first, so he’s technically the property of Fox.
All we hope is whatever role Dinklage is slated to get in Avengers: Infinity War that it has plenty of dialogue. We know he can monologue with the best of them.
