The old adage goes, “New Year, New You.” But what if it’s the same you, only with a few added tricks and tips to keep a mindful attitude that lasts all of 2017?

Mindfulness is the state of living in the here and now. It’s something that can prove difficult from time to time when we let past bad experiences interfere with our waking mind, or we look too far ahead to the future and collapse and the amount of work on the horizon. Instead, as 2017 really starts to get going, make this the year you’re able to be mindful of yourself, and set yourself on the pathway to becoming the best you you can be.

These are just 20 suggestions from me to you. I don’t expect you to follow all of them, nor am I saying I constantly live in a state of mindfulness. My mind wanders all the damn time, but I try my best, as we all should. These are merely thoughts I think can help all of us in order to have a nice and prosperous 2017.

As the inevitable rush of time continues to hurl us forward, it’s high time we learn to exist in the here and now instead of focusing on all the pain of the past. Even just working at it a little more each day will help guide you to exactly where you need to be.
