Stephen Colbert Took on the Golden Globes and Meryl Streep

The Golden Globes were Sunday night and Stephen Colbert pointed out the biggest highlight as well as the new meme sweeping the nation.

Stephen Colbert is slowly proving himself as one of the greats. This weekend at the Golden Globes, there seemed to be an abundance of mishaps meaning that late night shows had quite the easy time making jokes about not just the ceremony but now the new feud between Meryl Streep and President-elect Donald Trump.

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’s trailer for the fake film Hidden Fences put the nail in the coffin that Jenna Bush and Michael Keaton dug for themselves. Because honestly, we know why people mixed up these two of all the movies. The Night Of and The Night Manager never got mixed up but two movies about black people did.

So, Colbert pointed that out in this amazing spoof trailer.

But that’s not all Stephen took on. He also talked about the Meryl Streep speech that seemed to ruffle quite the amount of Donald Trump’s feathers. And, Stephen said it perfectly. Our president should be worrying about creating jobs and terrorists. Instead, he was worried about Meryl.

“Wait a second, I’m sorry, what? What? What did you just say? Meryl Streep overrated? Have you seen Sophie’s Choice? Have you seen The French Lieutenant’s Woman? Have you seen that one with the dead people that she’s even funny in that one? Look, Mr. Trump, you can refuse to release your taxes. You can call to ban an entire religion. You can play footsie with a dictator! But calling Meryl overrated? No.”
