“Thor: Ragnarok” will include Doctor Strange, and while Tom Hiddleston recently spoke about it, he didn’t give much away. Still, we can speculate away!
Thor: Ragnarok is just around the corner despite us having two more movies before we return to Asgard. Now that we’re within a year of its release date, rumors are running rampant about what might happen, who we might see.
And, of course, Tom Hiddleston had to add to that rumor mill at the Golden Globes. When pressured by Josh Horowitz about Benedict Cumberbatch’s Stephen Strange joining the ranks of Thor: Ragnarok, Hiddleston puts it as succinctly as possible:
"Doctor Strange has very intensely, cerebral, time-bending powers. At the end of ‘Thor: The Dark World’… Loki’s on the throne. What happened to Odin? So, maybe Doctor Strange has to help out with that particular conundrum."
We could have guessed this ourselves, though. In the mid-credits scene for Doctor Strange, we saw Doctor Strange and Thor conversing about why the heck Thor is back on earth. Loki is back on earth with him, but it’s only because they’re looking for Odin. Strange isn’t a fan of Loki being around because he’s so dangerous. And if they find Odin, Thor and Loki will leave earth promptly.
“Allow me to help you,” Strange says.
Basically, it’s not a “will Strange and Loki interact,” but more of a “when” and “how.”
Because you know it’s going to be all sorts of fantastic. Loki won’t be able to contain himself with this mortal wearing ridiculous clothes and a cape and “pretending” to wield magic.
“Oooh, a magician,” you can almost hear Loki purr at him in their first encounter. “What can you do, make a rabbit appear out of a hat?”
“Something like that,” Strange replies with narrowed eyes and a wry grin, ready to push Loki backwards through a portal that leads straight to a mountaintop.
