“Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” Season 4, Episode 9 Synopsis: “Broken Promises”

It’s back! “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” returns from its winter hiatus with brand new episodes. Check out what “Broken Promises” will hold.

Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD hasn’t had a new episode since its winter finale on December 6th. And they left us with some fun hanging threads.

With its return this Tuesday, January 9th, the subheading changes. No longer do we focus on Ghost Rider, but LMDs. While we may not see the return of Robbie Reyes for a while (if at all), we can always hold out hope that he pops up soon. 22 episodes around him would definitely be too much, but they whisked him away with too many loose ends that still need tied up.

Besides, robots always wind up evil, don’t they? Aida wasn’t about to sit idly by and not turn evil.

Here’s the official synopsis:

"Though Coulson and May are growing closer, Coulson remains unaware of the dark secret May is hiding beneath the surface. Meanwhile, Aida is unrelenting in her search for the Darkhold, on “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D..”"

We’ve all seen Coulson and May growing closer sooner or later, as they have a rich and storied history working for SHIELD. But this is going to be a heck of a ride. How long until he figures out she’s a life model decoy?

Plus with that long-time theory that Coulson himself was an LMD (getting stabbed in the heart with a Chitauri scepter is tough to come back from), this is a fun twist on what could have been.

With the power of the Darkhold in her head, it’s safe to say shenanigans will happen for our favorite SHIELD agents.
