Animated movies have proved time and time again that they are some of the best films out there. From Up to Inside Out, they are changing the movie game. And this year, Moana may just end up taking home most the big awards.

Moana, a Disney film that made so many people happy this Thanksgiving season, is definitely going to win Best Animated Picture. With the Rock lending his voice to it and music from Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda, there was no doubt in our minds that this movie was going to be great. And it definitely was! It is pretty certain that Moana is going to win but who knows! The only other real contender would be Zootopia, so we’ll just have to wait and see.

Best Original Song, Motion Picture

“How Far I’ll Go” is the perfect inspirational Disney song. Moana wants to go off the island and she wants to go into the water but the song is just an amazing one. Lin-Manuel Miranda did a great job of capturing the Disney spirit in it while still making it a modern song that people will listen to. Especially since Alessia Cara has her own version of the song out!
